Elitsa TODOROVA was born in 1977 in the town of Varna. She graduated a musical school with percussion instruments and folklore singing, and got her university degree in percussion instruments.
She has an unmistakable strong, full-toned and tough voice. Elitsa has developed her own style of playing the tarambuka combining fast rhythms with a simultaneous synchrony of playing and singing. Her duet with Stoyan Yankoulov turned her into a phenomenon in no time at all. International media call her “a mysterious and exotic singer with magnetic fascination.” She has given concerts in Africa, Canada, Finland, Belguim, Portugal, Austria, Luxemburg, Spain, Russia and has been awarded numerous prizes.
Stoyan YANKOULOV is the best Bulgarian drum player and percussionist. He started playing the piano when he was five. He got his high-school education specializing in percussions and his university degree also in percussions, Jazz and Rock Department.
He was leader of Big Band of Bulgarian National Radio for seven years. He took part in numerous international projects in Germany, Austria, Finland, Norway, Greece, and Turkey together with Bobby McFerrin, Ivo Papazov, Teodosii Spasov. He invented a unique set of percussions and a Bulgarian folklore drum, which is a cone-type tupan. He has been giving concerts with Elitsa TODOROVA for five years on the biggest international stages presenting the unique Bulgarian culture, which brought him international popularity and awards.

It’s normal that some people don’t like the song… It’s not shitty like the most songs in Eurovision. I heard that DJ Bobo’s song is good. I really like DJ Bobo’s songs but that one is awful, just awful. However, it’s one of the favorites. Water is a combination of d’n'b sound and Bulgarian folk music - a big part of the other songs are just pop. Who, do you think, will win in the battle of pop songs and folk music?
